Girls, Can a school actually make you wear shorts underneath your school skirt as part of the school uniform and why would they make you do this?

I am starting a new catholic school which has a uniform where you have to wear a knee length green tartan skirt and you also wear have to tight black shorts that are mid thigh length underneath your skirt. The uniform guidelines specially say "All girls must wear tight black shorts of mid thigh length under skirts at all times".

Yes they can. My school actually had the shorts sewed inside when they sold them to us. They told us it’s to prevent people seeing up our skirts when walking up stairs and to keep the slutty girls from flashing. Whether that was true I don’t know but that was the reasons they gave us.

No I don't think they will just be able to go around looking up skirts to check if they are wearing shorts lol But from what I heard if a girl is found out to not wear shorts under her skirt (or the exact specified shorts) at this school is they get in deep trouble

I went to a catholic school and they never made us do anything that drastic! That's crazy, I probably wouldn't wear it and if they told me off I'd ask how they knew
