Why do cholas only like cholos?

I work at a bar and once a month we have some dj's play like oldies and 70's \ 80's dance music. All the ghettofabulous cholas and cholos show up and dance. The girls that are not dressed like hood rats interact with me and the other guys at the bar like normal people. The cholas however will not even look at a guy if he doesn't look like a ghetto gangster. There was a guy standing next to me complaining about it. He said "I'm Mexican but I'm dressed like a normal dude and these cholas won't even look at me" hahaha. He was sad.
