Woman is extremely slow to reveal information about herself and I'm getting tired. Should I just move on?

I've been talking with this woman for around 6 months. We met and talk online. I really enjoy talking with her, but it's taking forever for her to open up. Once I get her talking, she's usually comfortable sharing, but very little information is ever volunteered.

Heck, there are even times when I ask her about something and she won't really answer. She has hobbies, but they are "always changing," for example. I asked when her birthday is, and she gave me a month but not a particular day. She seems to enjoy talking to me and will reach out to me and ask lots of questions, she's just taking absolutely forever to open up about herself. Even though I understand that this is just an element of her personality and I really like this girl, I'm beginning to lose patience.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable in hoping that I would be able to simply know her birthday after 6 months, but I also understand that opening up and being vulnerable with someone is scary.

What would you do in this situation?

As a woman, I will tell you when I have been really interested in a guy, he would definitely know enough about me within the first few months

That’s my thought too. She’s definitely given me a fair amount of information, so I don’t want to act like it’s always been like pulling teeth, but it’s not as much of an exchange as I would expect hope by this time.

I wouldn't ask her any of those things because I don't care. Women are objects of pleasure and nothing else but a pain in the ass. Until they're not of course... then all that comes naturally

Only online, at this point. 6 months isn’t an unreasonable timeframe in this context. I’d rather not go into specifics right now, for the sake of privacy, but just operate in the assumption that 6 months without having met in person is reasonable in this context.

I had a “best friend” who never told me anything, and we were together 24/7. Skip to a few years later, her new friends n boyfriend are saying the same exact thing. Secretive people will always have you looking stupid. They will do stuff and not tell you and you would defend them And they still won’t correct you as to who they REALLY are

I feel ya. I'm really not a fan of people who make things like that needlessly difficult. In my experience, people like that tend to have control issues and honestly, they seem to be angry people. I've gotten a little bit of that pissy, edgy vibe from her. I haven't seen her blow up about anything, but there's definitely a little bit of general anxiety about life.

My ex best friend was the same way, snappy and aggressive out of nowhere. She comes from a messed up home & now she’s an escort. I think lying and not letting anyone close to them is a survival thing
