I’m a woman and I feel like I’m confused about women?

There’s this girl I’ve been texting who used to work with me, then left at the beginning of this year. We hold a pretty good conversation, and I’ve definitely flirted with her. She seems to like the attention and responds well. Something I just can’t seem to shake though is whether or not she’s faking it, just likes the attention for the time being or what? When we text she replies like instantly, and they’re very detailed texts, she’s asked me questions about myself, she even throws in cute emojis. When i would compliment her, she would tell me i gave her butterflies and made her blush. However, she never initiates texting me, so I guess this is where I’m confused. What do you guys think?
