I don't see see why not as long they are responsible and safe about protecting themselves from unplanned pregnancy and STDs. I think she could be afraid that if she did sleep around other women and men would consider her a slut or easy and a whore while guys pretty much gets a high five.

This is a very good question. First, both men and women that sleep around, train themselves to prefer variety verses monogamy. This is why men that sleep around, have always been known to be cheaters. This is also true for women that sleep around, because in both cases, a lot of different sexual partners degrades your ability to bond with just one person. The scientific term for this is called pair bonding. Also, It's a misconception that men can sleep around and still easily be monogamous. This all boils down to a hormone called oxytocin.

Oxytocin is what has been coined at the love hormone, because it makes human beings bond during sex. Women have up to 8x more oxytocin in their bodies than men, which is why women on average become much more attached through sex than men do. When a woman has a lot of different sexual partners, she has to consistently break that bond, until eventually she loses her ability to bond through sex. This is precisely why the saying can't turn a hoe into a house wife exists. For both men and women, but for most women especially, a lot of sexual partners also comes with a lot of emotional trauma, because women are naturally more emotional than men.

This is the part that most people don't hear about, because most women feel pressured to be a part of hook up culture because it's marketed as female empowerment, when in actuality a lot of women actually prefer monogamy, because they're biologically wired for it. This is true for men as well, the only difference is that because men have less oxytocin than women, men can sleep with a few more partners than women can before they too lose their ability to bond through sex as well. In both cases, they will prefer variety, so much so that they are much more inclined to cheat in monogamous relationships, and most often do especially in the modern day now that cheating has become normalized.

Its tough to be fullfilled in a monogamous relationship when youve become accustomed to a lot of variety. Too much of anything in life is bad for you in the long run. Thus, most often promiscuity is too hard for people to recover from in time to find someone to settle down with.

Lastly, don't allow anyone to force you to do anything you don't want to do. It's unfortunate that most people in the modern day are pressured into hook up culture, that dont actually want to be a part of it, but feel like they have no choice. If you're not interested in love, then enjoy hook up culture, but if you're biologically wired like most women, its imprtant to know how an excessive amount of sexual partners can affect your ability to be fullfilled in a relationship in the future. Let me start this by saying that I don't think either gender should be sleeping around.

I struggled to find an answer to this question for a really long time. Intuitively I understood that there's something inherently different about the act of sex for men and women, but I really struggled put a finger on exactly why that is. Also, I couldn't figure out a good way to describe that difference in a way that wasn't preachy or felt condescending. I finally have, what I think is a good response; please let me know what you think.

The reason women shouldn't sleep around the way men do, is that men and women have different threshholds for the kinds people they would be willing to date versus who they would be willing to sleep with, and the genders value sex differently as a result. A woman generally gives more of herself by having sex with a man, than the man gives of himself to her because any man that the woman would be willing to sleep with is generally going to be closer to the caliber of man she would want to have a relationship with. Sex is a fundamentally more emotional experience for the woman because women value less physical things in men. A man isn't viewing his sexual conquests in that same light because he's only interested in her physical beauty, so there's less of an emotional element. .

A hookup for a woman is based on sensory things that she probably can't only explain visually. While there are unquestionably men that you'd be willing to hook up with that you wouldn't date, the difference between the boy toys and daddy material probably isn't that large, while men just need think the woman looks sexy (and sometimes barely even that).

The amount of effort you need to put into forming that emotional spark with a guy to fuck his brains out for one night isn't worth your effort because you probably aren't only falling for his body.

She's free to do that if she wants to but there is little to no benefit for her. She's losing years and value by doing that. Actually it looks bad if she wants to later on find a suitable mate and she'll have a hard time bonding.

Generally speaking people of both genders with a sleeping around past are likely to cheat in a relationship or marriage. Yes are exceptions to every rule (I know that) but those people are generally already too broken for commitment and pair bonding.

Naturally, women are the gatekeepers of sex so that means two things : more men are asking... More women are approving... So when a woman sleeps around you subconsciously think she doesn't do much approval and the guys she's with are not quality guys... So, she doesn't seem very desirable...

Men are animals who can't control themselves. Most of the time at least. Should they fuck anything that moves. I don't agree. But it is what it is.

As for women - from my perspective: I don't wanna date a woman who sucked off half of the city. It wouldn't make me feel special, just like another number in her book.

Also - the, higher body count a woman has the harder it is for her to pair bond. As a result, they are more likely to cheat.

There is no "should" in this question. You just have to do what's right for you. But whatever path you choose, be aware of the consequences. Most high value men want (and can get) a high value woman, and women who sleep around are not high value.

So just make an educated choice.

The more important question is... why do women have such low standards for men in this respect? Instead of asking why men have high standards, why don't you women just raise your own standards? Honest question.
