Is cooking something almost anyone can be good at/accomplish if they just follow instructions?

Not really. I tried taking a culinary degree and it didn’t work out. (Almost cut my fingers off because dumbass chef told me to hold the knife higher - and I know not to lift the knife higher than your knuckles). The terms like simmer, throw me.

It's not that simple. I mean there are some dishes that are easy enough to make following a recipe, but cooking well requires skills and knowledge that need to develop over time.

I know a lot of people who can cook, but not many who can cook well, and all of the ones who do actually cook well are guys. It's sad how few women know how to cook anymore.

Yes, but you have to start with something easy and simple enough because it can get complicated or too much easily, if you don't know how to cook at all.

I really want to learn how to make a pot roast. I’ve been seeing a lot of younger people make it and I know pot roast as being a meal your grandmother, mom or aunt usually makes so to see younger people making it now is motivating me to want to make it. If more

Ok, the recipe seems fairly simple! I think it will be very possible to accomplish!
I recommend reading the recipe over and making sure you understand what to do. Watching a video can help too!
If it goes to shit, then it does. You can only learn from that. And the next time you try, it will be better.
Might take some practice to become good, but at least decent potroast doesn't seem too hard.
