How do you choose a new toilet for your bathroom?

Hi everyone. I was cleaning the toilet the other day and found a crack on the outside of the bowl (we have a two piece tank and bowl toilet) that goes from the base to nearly to the front of the bowl. I checked all over the toilet, tank and bowl to make sure no leakage was happening anywhere. Whew! No water leakage anywhere! Yay! I’m betting whoever installed it wasn’t careful or possibly manufacture defect. Anyway I showed the wife and she said uh oh, guess we better start looking for new toilet. Here’s my problem. These toilets came with the house so I have no idea how to choose a new one. For you ladies and gents that have had to replace your toilet - how did you choose your new one specifically? And which one did you choose? Please include all details of your choice. Especially include why you got the new toilet you got. If you want to include pics of your toilet/bathroom that would be great and might help me choose which one to get. Thank you everyone. 🙂👍

Hmm.

Sounds like you should ask someone who installs toilets, professionally. It may not be that difficult; I’m sure it could be learned for future references. YouTube or the installation man/woman.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a toilet at a store? 🤔 maybe menards?

Well anyways, I’d pick one with wider piping in the base of the toilet, but one that looks nice. Yours has a crack? See if any toilets have different materials, and see which one would be the most enduring material- like a longer “life-span.”

For the most part, I think they’re mostly ceramic, but doesn’t hurt to ask and look into it more.

Oh make sure the handle levers work. Don’t want a loose one with a faulty spring or so.

You’ve never seen a toilet in a store? Go to your local Lowes or Home Depot. 👍🙂. Yes I’ve been there but good luck in finding someone to help you. 🙁

A toilet with a water spray in it. It washes up your butt right after. You have a tap right next to the toilet and you can control the flow with it.

I miss toilets in Japan. Seat warmer... sprays my balls and ass clean... blow dries it afterwords...
