I was babysitting a 10 year old girl - the cousin of one of my hockey teammates to be exact. It was the evening and almost her bedtime. She was lying in her bedroom singing songs to herself. It is important to note that her bedroom is beside the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom, and started peeing. Right after I started, her singing suddenly stopped mid-song. It seemed like she was listening to me. Because I stand to pee, it does make a loud noise. Then within seconds of me finishing, her singing started back up again. It felt quite awkward for the approximately 45 seconds I was peeing. I pulled my sweatpants up and left the bathroom. We did not see each other until the next morning and neither of us said anything.

It's not weird. She's just 10 year old and you're over thinking. Also when you pee you should direct it on the toilet walls (above water line) to reduce the noise, which causes discomfort.
