Most women go out of their way to look attractive, presumably to men, yet they treat men like crap - why?

I'm sorry but I don't do that. I am most certainly a girl who goes out of her way to look good. Some days I won't even go to bed without touching up my lip stick... And I sleep alone... Now with this said I will elaborate further. I get dressed up because I WANT TO LOOK GOOD. It makes ME feel good.

Yes and I know other people will notice and it makes me feel prideful when they do however my looks are primarily for me. I have so many challenges in life at the moment that the least I can do is treat myself well.

Now as a result of treating myself with care I do get noticed by men or women and sometimes cute adorable children who run up to me and tell me I'm pretty. I'm not rude to any of them.

And yes men included. I'm not rude to men. Even when they are out of line and overly sexually bold I keep my cool and simply tell them that's not how a lady wants to be treated. I have always kept a modest approach. I say thank you when I am complimented now matter what the man looks like handsome or not. I will not on the other hand lead a man on. If I know I am not attractive I do not give false hopes. I will not be flirtatious or as open. I remain polite quaint and stick to casual conversation. If Im truly not interested I excuse myself and state a reason to why I must be going (even if it means having to head to the lady's room).

I never have been belittling to a man now with this said I must once more elaborate further. This politeness has left me in difficult situations where some men do not take my subtle lack of interest in meaningful conversation as a sign of me not being interested. Instead they take my politeness as meaning I am interested. This is rare but still very awkward. As I truly do refrain as much as possible from having to result in being rude it leave me in a tough spot.

In situations where I cannot shake the individual and the person keeps coming back With each encounter I will become a little more dry shorter with my answers and quicker to have a reason to leave. Eventually they do get the point but I have known some that have not.

By this point I may feel exasperated. I believe most women would have told them off by this point. By this point I will begin to show annoyance or not address the person walk away and completely avoid them.

I conclude some women may simply skip the steps I take and resort to being rude immediately if they're not interested in someone. They may see it as the fastest way to get the point across and avoid anyone taking their kindness as being interested.

Part ego boost and part... they are filtering for the highest level mate they can get, putting on their "best" ... BS... outfit, makeup, 500 product... they don't look like that in real life nor are they that pleasant to deal with when you get close, their flaws will come out. So the guy gets tested and most... fail to penetrate her "b! tch shield". heck, this is nothing different than sperms and embryos.

You don't want those women... if you do, then you should visit a counselor to get that altered.

Women don’t do that for men, they do that for their own self estime, to look better, very simple. It’s a feminine trait not an invitation for sex or to flirt. If they do get attention it will validate them and they will be happy and do more of it, has nothing to do with actually wanting men in their life. You just feel better about yourself but again the objective really is NOT to get a boyfriend or sex. To get sex is very easy for a woman and doesn’t require make up or nice clothes. Women actually dont think too much about attracting men… they don’t need to… they just want to be beautiful it’s purely selfish

No why…. I genuinely think that’s how women think… how to explain.. I never understood this about men, they seem to take our actions personally, if I see a man who’s very fit and put attention to his physical appearance (or has gone out of his way to look attractive as you said, for example looked very strong) I would never conclude ‘oh he must want sex with me’ or ‘how he did that to be appealing to women’ or ‘oh he’s looking for some pussy’ that’s totally crazy, I wouldn’t conclude anything actually I would just think ‘oh wow very nice!’ Definitely not take it as a signal…Men are just horny and their mind go where they want to go…

Vindictiveness. Women are supersensitive. There are a few good ones. But most when they feel they've been wronged want to settle the score. And any guy will do. Because to them all men are the same. And they rationalize it in thier brain as "he probably earned it at some point even if it wasn't with me, so it's ok". So these women will flirt and lead men on just to drop them flat. It's half revenge and half just what they do. Women get a high out of doing this to guys. It's kind of twisted, but what ya gonna do.

I think it seems that way because you're focused on this and are noticing it. I'm not sure what most means so I'm trying to be helpful with an opinion.. to me that's 9/10 people.

I think when you're focused on something like this you can find it easier almost like when you like a new car and then all of a sudden see them all over the road.

If you feel that most women are that way then you're going to see it that way too. This is just my opinion.

Like what the other people already said. They want a certain kind of men to approach them. So if you approach them, you are seen as some trash that they don't wanna talk to. Rejection is harsh for dudes who aren't attractive but we have to live with it. Also it might have something to do with the " halo effect" you should look it up.
