Are women really this insecure? Is this insecurity or something else?

Uhm hi! So I work a waitressing job as one of my part times. Being a waitress requires taking orders and communicating with customers...

However I've found that there have been multiple incidents where I'll serve a husband and his wife and when it comes to taking the order, the woman talks over her husband as he's trying to tell me his order and instantly dictates the convo (asking him what he wants and then relaying it back to me)... and refuses to let him talk to me. Another time, a customer's wife SNATCHED the menu from her husband's hand just as he was about to give it to me and gave it to me herself. Believe it or not, the snatching incident has happened more than one time with multiple women and their husbands.

I didn't take notice of any of this (i just assumed it was rude customer behaviour) until I caught a colleague laughing about it. She told me the wife seemed threatened by me.

Funnily enough, some of these couples come frequently... and the wives don't behave the same way with the other waitresses. But when I try to take their orders they don't let their husbands talk to me or even look in my direction.

These wives know how awful they really are to their husbands and are threatened by anyone who might distract them. This is the same reason married women frantically eject divorced women from their friend circles.

Women who know they are good women and good wives don't do this sort of thing.

They're insecure.
Everyone has some insecurity but that's one thing and being insecure overall is something totally else and I find most women are insecure and easily compare themselves... what is not needed but yeah
