Do women feel those things regarding giving birth?

Well, for me as a male it's hard to imagine.

Something comes out of me, then has arms and legs and is a conscious thinking human being. Now it's shouldn't necessarily be you.
When we talk about giving birth, do you, or does any peer you know feel the following ;

Feel that you own your children?
Feel like a goddess?
Feel divine, powerful, or Godly?

None of the above. I felt my children grow inside of me, move inside of me, and I listened to their heartbeats. It wasn't a surprise when a conscience human being with arms and legs emerged.

Anyhow, I did not have any pain blockers during labor or birth and all I felt was pain (not divine, powerful, or godly). It was more like powerLESS and needing divine intervention.

I did not feel like a goddess, I didn't care about anything else other than the baby and I surviving the birthing process.

I don't know why anyone would feel like their human child is their possession. It's much different. You can take my possessions and I'll be inconvenienced, but God help anyone who harms one of my children.

Having literally just given birth myself for the second time, I totally wholeheartedly agree with all that you've written.

However, I do have to confess in having to succumb to an epidural in the very latter stages as the contractions was literally just too painful to endure.

@EmmaMary Congratulations on your new baby! 🎉 I completely understand wanting the epidural. It was probably a more enjoyable experience. I used to watch those delivery shows and the mommies were smiling throughout labor.

I really was trying so hard to be "brave" this time around in having a completely, totally natural delivery, but sadly it wasn't to be. ☹
