They're too old in most cases to be a good mother. I mean, at SEVENTY, do you want to attend your daughter's or son's high school graduation when most folk there will think you're your child's grandmother?( And frankly, few older women keep their good looks as we men can.)

My mother was forty when my younger sister was born. ( She would have been the YOUNGEST, but the first sibling, four months premature, didn't live through her first day.) Mom told Dad that Karen would be the last child, as Mom thought she was too old to safely bear another child.

I would have 2 concerns with this. The first being that the pregnancy is going to greatly affect a mother's health. The second part is that how long is the mother and father going to be alive to raise this child and if they pass away whose burden does that become

It's totally wrong. Chances are one or both will die before the kid turns 18. Where does the kid go then? It's entirely selfish and not thinking at all about the life of the kid.
