When they found a way to communicate with a woman that´s not embarrassing or weird. Because one part in the analogy of the big bang theory that you missed is that most of the characters in the Big Bang Theory didn´t get their girlfriend by own effort:

1. Leonard dates Penny a couple times and break off with her after they get back together and marry.

2. Sheldon meets Amy ONLY because Raj and Howard put Sheldons information in a dating platform and convince him to go on a date with Amy. He later has problems to aknowledge that Amy is his girlfriend.

3. Howard only gets a date with Bernadette because of a promise that Leonard and him made that whoever gets a girl first gives the other a chance to date with a friend of their girl.

4. Raj has multiple girls but no long-term relationships. He´s the last of them all and gets his engagement set up by his dad which he later breaks off too and stays single.

All those characters are in some way misogynistic but they are also in capable of dating on their own. They all need help to find a woman and that´s the real problem in my view.

I think what nerd guys need help with is not so much with them misogynistic (they surely can be but that´s something that´s easy to be solved) but with finding a way of dating that´s genuine but not weird at the same time.

What about a general disinterest in nerdy guys? I never saw the value in treating women as lesser than men; so that can't explain my lack of success with women. My philosophy has always been that it is better to have friends than enemies; so I should be friendly with everyone even if they are rude to begin with. So that is out the window too. Leaving only my appearance and my social awkwardness from being a nerd. Considering how many compliments I get on my senior picture from women; it was a lot more the social awkwardness, at least in highschool and college. Perhaps that is why I have found success now; after working on my social skills with a therapist.
