Do friends care if you remove them off social media?

I have recently ended a long-term friendship with a friend I knew for more than 10 years. But in the last 2 years when I moved back in town I figured she was not a good friend after all. She would be flaky about meet ups which is the least annoying part about her. She would also try to manipulate me to make up with my cousin because she liked her brother. Or for some other reason I don’t know. She would keep bringing it up every time we meet although I told her several times that it made me uncomfortable. She also told me that she will meet her if my cousin texts her - I had already told her this was fine so I don't know why she brought that one up again either. Lastly, she never likes my photos but likes my cousin’s on Instagram. I didn’t even think she deserved a conversation to mediate the conflict so I just removed her from Instagram and deleted her number. A few days later she tried to call which I didn’t answer. I thought she would try harder provided her persistent personality. Does she understand it I’m done with her? Because I thought she would be upset about how I cut her off

Does she normally call you out of the blue like that? If not, then she probably noticed you removed her. I feel like everyone is attuned with their social media profiles so she definitely knows you are angry especially the fact you ignored her call.

It's a good thing she's giving you space, I know you wanted the satisfaction of ignoring her when she tried to reach you multiple times but revenge doesn't solve anything.

Just creates more resentment and you shouldn't lower yourself to her level. But I do agree that she doesn't deserve you. She sounds self centered, controlling, disrespectful and manipulative.

She sounds catty how she would bring up unnecessary drama with you all the time, especially about the cousin thing. Is your cousin a guy or a girl?

Because sounds like she likes your cousin more which is weird do they like hangout all the time or something? Like why is she so obsessed with you cousin it's weird even if it's for a guy she likes.

It sounds like she only comes to you when she wants something. The fact you told her you are not comfortable, you don't want to talk about your cousin and she disregards that every time she sounds like a bitch (no offense or anything) and I say screw her.

It's a good thing you noticed now and now you can get rid of her from your life. During this time of healing, I would do a lot of self-care.

Do things that relax you and make you happy. Write in a journal if you can, writing in a journal greatly helps your emotions and helps you heal/move on.

I did that when I ended my 16 year friendship with a girl I thought was my sister but realized she only cared about herself and not me.

Don't blame yourself by being friends all these years with this horrible person. It's not your fault that you have a kind heart, that you are a good person, that you care a lot.

All it is, is that she didn't deserve you and now you see that. Now you can acknowledge it and leave. She can sit there and regret every second of ruining your guys friendship because she'll never find someone like you in her life and I know she'll regret it.

Give yourself all the time you need to heal and don't rush the process. Cry if you want, write all your angry emotions out, and take a relaxing bath. Don't look at her social media at all until it doesn't hurt anymore.

My cousin is a girl. She has been obsessed with her years now having followed her on fucking Instagram. Oh and she likes her brother. She fucking asked me to set them up and told me that his sister and I should be there too. This was a while ago but I’m just showing you how crazy she has been. I declined this of course and nobody ever met. And she is still under the impression that they will meet one day. Now she can continue to like her photos and try to get with my cousin cuz she is desperate for guys…

Also it’s fine if she’s desperate for guys. It’s just she’s getting me involved in her business. Also last time she really wanted to me to come to be with her the night she had sex with her then boyfriend. I refused to sleep over and apparently they did it after I left. Next morning they broke up because it wasn’t good. Like I know so much about her now. She should find someone else for her dirty work.. lol

She seems close with you with that request. I get why you refused to stay that's honestly really weird. But it sounds like she trusts you to some regard to want your comfort there while she has sex with her boyfriend for the first time. I think your friendship ending will matter to her hearing this.

I care if I'm removed without them talking to me. But, yes, there are people who don't care if they're removed -- even if they were "friends" to begin with.
