Because women are people and have their own personality and individuality. They want it to be recognized, because that's the very first step to obtain respect and a bond in general. That means there would be an actual connection between the two, where she is a participant in the relationship too. If all the rest of what she is is not taken in consideration by the guy then the only participant in the relationship is the guy and the girl is more like a "service" around his desires. Of course, this scenario is not attractive for most women. While sharing things, building trust and an actual bond based on compatibility allows a relationship with 2 participants instead.
Then of course a lot of women look for a relationship instead of hookups so they may get turned off / repulsed if a guy tries hard with them without even knowing them at all because that reveals their intentions, but I think the main reason is anyway the point above.

Said that, you are not forced to like a girl for more than her looks. If she is not compatible with you, has scary personality traits for you, is clingy, annoying, boring for you or whatnot, of course you shouldn't continue dating her with relationship purposes (as well as you shouldn't date women who are not on your same page in terms of what you both want from each other, anyway).

On the other side, women who complain they can't connect with any guy should probably change the way they get contacts with guys because they are probably using wrong channels for what they look for.

Just don't look at those "most girls on social media" then, I don't know (other than that, if you refer to IG, well its own design is meant for photos only, no space for thoughts or discussions really).
It looks like you think a good looking woman can't have anything else than their looks, so if they don't have content that appeals to you then if you look for a relationship you should look for a woman you are compatible with... Unless you want the relationship to not be equal, in a way that you see like a stable hookup and she hopes it becomes a committed relationship, but that requires her "agreement" on this part too, as relationships are made in two. I think this applies more easily if she is looking fo hookups only, or if she just broke up with her ex and looks for a rebound relationship (which usually doesn't last, but the urge to get a replacement can make they go for compromises).

Yes, I think relationships should be equal when possible, although it's always up to the partners to decide their own spoken and uspoken rules. Many relationship are not equal but those girlfriends may keep sticking to their psychologically (sometimes even physically) abusive partners obsessively so that's really about each couple.
If you want an equal relationship you'll select an equal partner, if you don't want it equal, you won't (as long as the partner is on the same page in both cases, but that develops automatically).

(All I say doesn't exclude women have different levels of "content", some are more empty and shallow than others of course).

"Some women" is FAR more realistic than "all women", it's not possible there are no exceptions over something this variable. Here you are trying to get support for your bias to indirectly complain about finding women being empty and being bothered by their (quite expectable) will to be recognized as human beings. The problem seems more like in you here, to be honest...
Again, not excluding some women are more empty than others, but that is valid for men too.
I don't feel myself like an empty one, for example, and I am considered very attractive, neither my partner is empty (and neither my exes were), and I surely got in contact with an overload of men I considered too empty or shallow, limited, to deal with. Would I date someone who can't see past the looks? No of course, how can I even be remotely interested in spending time with them? Same is with you, if you get rejected because you can't see more, well she will just find someone else who can see more. Or will be forced to compromise at some point if she is really -that- empty, of course.
You get the type of partners you are cut for... So if you want a submissive woman who doesn't see herself as an equal deserveful human being, at some point you'll select women enough to find that precise type. Some are like that, they exist, but going precisely for this type sounds quite mean because you'd look specifically for a woman you intend to not respect from the beginning...
