Pros and cons about purchasing a home and having roommates?

Sure, it's not necessary but I don't have any family or friends where I live and the feeling of knowing I have roommates would help me feel somewhat better.

Well for starters I’d say check the existing laws for your state and the ones being implemented this year. I know that the Bay Area and California just passed a law to prevent landlords from screening prospective tenants, which is really scary safety-wise. Aside from that, I’d say do your research on being a landlord. There’s a big difference between having roommates in order to make friends and/or have company vs being in charge of running the ship. It’s more responsibility than just collecting rent each month.

I would find out the details about the house and who you are living with before deciding because it can be either a great or miserable experience. Find people that have a common mind to you on how you desire to live because you can accidentally move in with people that are horrible to live with

If you depend on the rent to pay bills, then all of a sudden it stop then you have to get a court order and put a 30 day sign on the door saying get out

Do not purchase a house if you can't make the payments without rental income from roommates.

I clearly said it’s not necessary but I’d do it anyways because I don’t know anyone here.
