Ladies, why do go through so much trouble to give a guy your REAL number?

a old co worker of mine I had a crush on me which I didn’t know. Anyways, She teased me, Asked me deep questions and so on. It was like a game she was pulling off. So she give me her REAL number when I thought it was someone else’s. Anyways I called the number and turns out it was my co worker asking me out but… I had to rejected her because 2000s was a different time for me and what she did backfired badly. So ladies I hope you understand this. So my question is why go through all the horrible trouble just give a guy your REAL number and ask him out. Why all the horrible hardship on the guy you liked. Have you done something similar on someone you liked.

Why do you keep emphasizing “real”? Was there a fake number at some point? Or are you talking about the fact that you felt like she was playing games before giving her number? Because if that’s the case then I don't know what games she played. Sounds like she was breaking the ice with you first before giving her number.
