Is she just pretending to be nice?

Yesterday i came home to find out My Mom has covid.

Told by Boss by text she called me she sounded rude to me.

so she came in this morning before she had to go helpout another store. Told her she was rude she got upset i don't care.

She called me a few seconds ago asked me how i was doing i said not good she asked me if she could do anything for me I said no she said if that changes let her know

Is my boss just pretending to be nice?

She was probably thinking you'll want time off from work to take care of your mom; which might put her in a bind at the store.
Then it sounds to me like she might have been a mean boss in the past and she's trying to change her image to being nice. It sounds like she is in therapy about learning to be a nice boss, which doesn't come to her naturally.

If you do need to take time off to care for your mom, make sure you tell her ahead of time so she doesn't get blindsided.
If I am not wrong, there are laws now where an employer must give you time off from work with pay to care for a sick relative. It's called The Family Care Act - I think.

i appreciate your help I'm just not sure what to do. i hate my job. i don't want to deal instrest more time into this job if she's just faking being nice

Give it some time. Her true colors will show soon. Isn't she new there too? Could be why she's being nice.

she's been here for 3 weeks or so maybe i mouth but i forget. She has no other employees yet it's just me I'm her assistant manager it's a s season business so during off season it's just me and her working
