Why would my coworker jokingly say this?

I walked into work today and I forgot my water. My coworker who’s older and sometimes lovingly gives me a hard time but sometimes I think she’s serious lol. Today she was like “there’s water in the fridge or are you too good to drink the water in there?”
I carry myself nicely lol. I’m put together and carry nice purses and always have my nails and makeup done nicely. I get told I’m pretty often. What did my coworker mean by this comment lol? Was she trying to say I’m stuck up or something?

Sounds like it based on the way you look. I could be wrong but from what you wrote you sound as though you’d be high maintenance. It could also be in the way you talk to people at work as well. Like you’re better than everyone else. When someone says something “jokingly,” it’s usually meant to be serious but played off as a joke.

It probably was just a joke but maybe with a little bit of truth mixed in. Yes, she was implying that you present yourself as too good to drink what everyone else is drinking.
