It's really just how you're projecting yourself. If you're nice and outgoing there's no reason to be scared of you. If you're more shy or reserved, a lot of people will take that as a negative signal. It's all in HOW you act and HOW you speak, not about what you actually do or say. Be more friendly and outgoing and you'll have people respond positively to that.
