Why would she behave like this?

A coworker of mine has been behaving oddly around me as of late. At a party at work she had started sitting by me nervously on at least one occasion, and then a second where we were playing a party game and she decides to take my chair so I had to pull up a chair and sit beside her.

When I planned another group outing to see a movie and others didn’t want to go, she said she would be fine going out to see that movie if it was just us. When we did go with one or two other people, she kept asking when she might see me again.

Some time later, about two weeks ago, she asked again when she’d see me next when all I was doing was coming in to grab some things.

Then In the last week she had been behaving oddly around me. She’d still happily fill me in on group gossip, in jokes and conversations, but when I ask about her or try to talk to her she becomes more focused and responds only through short and abrupt answers. I ask if she was ok and she told me she was fine and not to worry with the rosy cheeked smile emoji.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on in her head?

Allow me to give you the very same answer as I gave you when you asked this question under question #4991501 earlier today. You indicated your age to be 45 at that time.

At age 45, you should have sufficient life experience to determine why this person is acting this way.

There are multiple reasons why she would act like that and without knowing her, it is difficult to make an assessment of that operson and what she is thinking or why she is behaving the way she does.

If she took your seat, where did you sit then? Did she force you out of your chair? If so, why did you not react?

Her behavior is a bit childish and certainly not the one of an adult. Your best bet is really to ask her why she does behave the way she does. Looks to me like she has mood swings.
