This guy I'm dating who's in love with me and he's so honest that he said he's not a boyfriend material what does he mean about it?

yeah it's so confusing..and he always ask me to be with him...what he said about not being a boyfriend material isn't what he shows, he's very spontaneous when it comes to expressing his feelings, he sweet,thoughtful would text and call me just to check up on me...will ask me out and watch a movie, have dinner and spend all day with me..what do I do?

ok here's another confusing part, he's been saying I love you to me..specially when where together(after a month), we've been going out for 2 months now, we've started as friends, but I know he's got something for me...he would tell me to be with him and want me as his girlfriend, I just smiled at him..then when I started feeling something to him I started being sweet and comfortable with him he asked me.."what are we?" then I just answered him honestly that I think I'm inlove with him too.--

He sounds like me. I often contradict things that I say with my actions. It reveals a very dry side of humor, or perhaps a cynical perspective on the world. For example, I'll say something like, "yes dear, I am the most immoral person alive." In fact, I am one of the most conservative and stoic people I know -- forgive the boastfulness. Part of it is cynicism, part of it is hyper-critical self-awareness. That is, he is acutely aware of his own personality, and his flaws, he judges himself harshly, even though he may have little in the way of actual flaws, and he gives you what he feels innately about his flaws, yet they may seem undefinable to you. Most of the time when I speak like that, I am talking about things that many people cannot see or understand, I am talking about very deep portions of myself, yet saying it in such a passing way creates a verbal irony that I enjoy in a bitter way.

I will add that a lot of it is a test. He's not trying to tell you he doesn't want commitment, rather, he wants to see your reaction, if you can see beneath his words, and see who he is inside, see the self-contradictory individual caught between reality and his fantasy.

your lady parts, occasional entertainment, movie or dinner companion

and nothing else

nothing that involves too much effort and emotion or ANYTHING else

oh and he only will want those things when his other plans are not working out

I'd talk to him, ask what his real intentions are with his words. Tell him his actions don't match up.
