Why does our American culture disincentivise hot women from engaging in "nerdy" activities?

Hot girls will stop following intellectual pursuits because it is seen as negative social status. This is only something I've seen in the U. S. The girls who are not hot don't give a fuck cause they know there's nothing they can do about their looks. But hot girls are so scared of looking bad and messing up their image. I think there needs to be a huge paradigm shift because intelligence is super sexy.

The culture as a whole doesn't. The nerds certainly don't- you're not going to find a nerdy guy who doesn't want pretty girls around, even if he's gay (you won't even see it much from nerdy girls). The idea comes from two places: first, the fact that nerds are still kinda low on the social status totem pole- it's NOTHING like it was thirty or forty years ago, but there's still a small stigma.

The second reason is more insidious: there's a poorly-defined ideology that's extremely popular these days that seeks social status through victimhood, and they began making inroads into nerd culture about twenty years ago. They thought we'd be natural allies, since many of them were social rejects, and most of us were social outcasts. Nerd culture, then as now- more so, even- was a very welcoming place, and it was seen as quite egalitarian. And it was. But that wasn't its goal, just a happy coincidence. Nerd culture, bearing both the gifts and the burdens of autism, is first and foremost meritocratic- it doesn't care about your sex or orientation or skin color or national origin, but it DOES care, and care deeply, about your competence.

The professional victims see that as anathema, for obvious reasons, and were the primary force behind pushing the narrative of hostility to women in nerd culture. While I'm not going to pretend that it NEVER happens, genuine antipathy is quite rare; bluntly, nerdy guys tend to treat women pretty much the same way they treat men, and women unused to being called on their nonsense often see it as an aggression. Attractive women are not inherently unable to act like adults, of course, and in my experience, the idea that an attractive person, granted more leeway to act like an asshole, will BE more of an asshole isn't very true. But the idea stands, and if you want to gain influence over people who have social power without social regard (like, say, rich nerd guys), then keeping out those who are neither in that group nor yours is a valuable tool.

Shaming nerds and good looking men and women taking less education is common not just in US but all over the world. If someone's attractive , they can cash that with little to no effort , why bothering so much hussle of education.
