Yeah, of course that is okay. They are just compliments. That is the thing with words like that. They can mean different things to different people and used in different ways. Could be the mood she is in that makes her choose a certain word to describe you.

Maybe she finds it more socially acceptable to refer to you as handsome to others. I have no clue. Why not ask her? I would not worry about it though. They are terms of endearment. Better she is calling you those types of words than the alternative, right?

Either way, she is happy with your looks and lets others know about her feelings. I don't see anything wrong with her saying one thing to her friends and another to you that pretty much mean the same thing anyhow. You are overthinking it.

If you are into those adjectives, then yes, it is okay by all means.

I would say that the term "handsome" is perhaps more indicated when in public because it describe a perception of overall physical attraction while the term "cute" is more a term I would see that you can use in the privacy of your 4 walls. "Cute" is less applicable for the way a person is perceived physically but more in an endearing way.

Some people would argue that "cute" is perhaps less for a man than for a woman. I personally disagree. A male can also be cute in his mannerism, his behavior and his overall attraction as seen by somebody that is in love or at least attracted by that person.

A clumsy behavior can be cute or an innocent way of seeing things can also be cute.

I personally would use the term cute only when I am alone with that person.

Of course, it is OK. I find the word “cute” to be very cheesy, but it is still OK.
