Girls, Why do girls make silly faces in pictures?

It seems to me that they do this because they are self conscious about how they look, so instead of taking a normal picture they take one where they intentionally look stupid, and then when they take a real one afterwards they aren't as self conscious. I absolutely do not like this and am confused why it happens. Is there any other reasons as to why girls do this? And mind you, I'm not speaking in generalization, I'm specifically talking about the pictures they send me.

Just sending a stupid picture to be funny and make you laugh I guess. At least from my experience, my sister would sometimes prank me by stealing my phone while I'm not looking and then at some point I inexplicably find a random goofy ahh picture of her face in my gallery.

Ok, so like if you had a guy you liked, you'd send him Goofye pictures? Is that a normal thing?
