The part of me that's a hopeless romantic thinks artists are incredible. They're usually deep, emotional, intelligent people. They have found a talent/skill in their life to express themselves in a healthy way and they're usually happy when they're able to enjoy their hobby. I also find it incredibly romantic when someone (specifically an artist) gives you a gift they made. Because you know in the process of them creating that, they had so much love and emotion towards you that they willingly wasted a large amount of their time, energy, and money just to show you how much you mean to them. That act in and of itself is endearing. Makes you feel so special, important, loved. Like they could have been doing literally anything else but they chose to spend their time on you even when you weren't around.

A little part of me is envious that they are so creative, that they are able to have that outlet, that they could turn their passion into a career they will love and enjoy for the rest of their life. Sometimes when I compare myself to artists I pity myself because I feel like I'll never be as good as them at anything I do, never be seen the same way as others see them, or that I'll never be able to have that outlet, that security in my own life. Sometimes if they're insanely good I get jealous and cannot physically be around them because my own insecurities will consume me in a spiral. Clearly I idolize their talents a lot and hold them on a very high pedestal that becomes unhealthy.

The logical part of me takes over at some point. In my experience, people like that also tend to be people who have been hurt so much in their lives that they live with a lot of unhealed trauma. They tend to be super clingy, codependent, and difficult to live with. Many of the ones I've met have had major trust issues which causes huge issues in the relationship. It's hard for someone like me who is more of a free spirit and loves my freedom to be with someone who needs the constant validation.

So in a sense yes, I am attracted to artists very much. In the reality of who I am, I don't think I could maintain a healthy relationship with one. Hope this was elaborate enough for you.
