Why would a girl ignore you after you said you had feelings for her?

I find it childish that after three months of me and this girl talking I expressed I wanted to take her for coffee and she never spoke to me again and ignored me in public. Why is is this? I feel disrespected. I would appreciate a something verbal instead of ignoring me. Maybe some woman here can explain this.

Ghosting sucks but it is a clear message at the same time: she doesn't like you like that and she would rather have zero relationship with you.

You're right, she should have let you down gently. However, she read you correctly - you're the kind of guy to complain about her online and seek validation for YOUR feelings instead of understanding hers.

Rejecting a man is dangerous. Men - especially men who will go online to complain about it - are statistically likely to assault, rape, stalk, and even murder women who reject them. Sometimes it isn't even because of that woman - the men just go full incel and lose their rationality.

Get used to ghosting. It happens to everyone who dates seriously. It's just something that happens.

You are never owed an explanation for a rejection. You may not ever get a good explanation for being dumped, either.

I understand that. Well to be fair some of her actions showed me she maybe liked me more than friends. Regardless it's that factor of respect. She would literally wait everyday to talk to me. It's the respect factor of just being straight up and talking to me.

Confessing your feelings to someone is a gamble you should always consider beforehand whether the risks are worth it or not. This is how some people respond if they don’t reciprocate the persons feelings, unfortunately. She’s probably worried that she’ll do something wrong, like lead you on or give you the wrong impression. You want her to act normally but that’s what led to the crush in the first place.

I understand. She spoke to me first and some of her actions were "more than friends" I think personally. Regardless I just wanted that respect factor of talking to each other and straigthing things out. She went from literally talking to me everyday to not even being able to look at me

That’s why I say you want her to act normally but that’s what led to the crush in the first place. It’s easy to misinterpret people’s actions, so what you considered “more than friends” could’ve been her just feeling comfortable enough to be herself and this was the result. I know when I had a male friend who ended up having a crush that I rejected, I tried to just go back to normal but it seemed to re-trigger his feelings and he asked me out again like 2 more times, so I had to throw in the towel. I’m sure she’s experienced this as well and now knows better. Anyway, sorry that you’re feeling uncomfortable but all I can say is to let it blow over then see what happens. If your confession is relatively recent, I know you’re eager to essentially erase that moment and be yourselves again, but it’s too fresh. Maybe it’ll be another story in the future.
