Is it ok to insult someone after asking for them to help you?

Someone asked me to be honest and tell them if they are pretty. I was honest and let them know I didn’t think so. She said that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and started to insult me. Does this make sense?

My question to you is, "Will you be doing something like that again in the future?"

As they say, "read the room". Temper your honesty with a bit of kindness and you won't find yourself in such a position.

Honesty that is "asked for" isn't really what those kinds of askers are hoping for.

Live and learn. Or not.

You saw what happened as a result of what transpired.
Consider what may have taken place with a bit of tempering of your reply in some manner.
I don't know the person in question, but there's almost always something nice that can be said about someone in order to spare their feelings.

No. But we're talking about G@G here. There are some very unstable people here. You can try to soften the blow by telling them the truth but by trying to put a positive spin on It. But there are a lot of women on this site that don't really want your opinion. They want you to tell them what the want to hear, and ONLY that.

My advice to you is 1. Avoid most anon questions. Most of them are tiger traps meant to ensnare you. If they can't attach thier name to it most the time it isn't a question worth your time. 2. Avoid "leading" question. These are questions designed to get a desired answer not your opinion. 3. Use the block button liberally.
