found out my old boss was giving me bad reference to jobs i applied to when they would call if i knew she would do this i would have never put her down as a reference.
she would tell jobs that called her. that i did not leave on good terms & i'm not able to behired by the company i know tthats
not right AS the HR woman said i was able to be rehired & i left on good terms.
like i give my notice feb 11th of this year but stayed till march 19 of this year to help her out.

Many bosses are not good people. It's rare to find a boss genuinely interested in your success.
This is just how most people are in a corporate setting.
It's best to also prep your references. When you provide their details, make sure you call them to inform them you're using them as a reference, tell them the skills you'd like them to highlight if they can, and ask if there's ok being a reference.
If you get signs they might torpedo you, drop them as a reference.
I use only half my previous bosses as references, because I only choose people I know will want me to do well but who will also accurately reflect my abilities.

Not sure, but stop using her as a reference, and use another former employee.
