My girlfriend did it just that way. With her feminine figure and face she will never seem boyish, though, so I do not mind.
Few will admit this.
It's more complicated, anyway. Often a woman will cut her hair short just after a breakup which seems counter-productive. Maybe it means that she is fed up with catering to men's taste and that she does her own thing for a while.
Some men and women do behave this way. They will play-act for about a year to establish a relationship, then reveal their true selves. If they are lying about their appearance, they are probably also presenting a false personality.
If I cut my hair, it has nothing to do with any man.
And neither does me having long hair.
I have had long hair, because I liked it. And later I cut it to shoulder length.
And I've also 1.5 years ago or so cut my hair boyish short.
All was just because I wanted to. No man was on my mind.
No, occasionally I think about how shorter hair would be cute but I just prefer longer hair, I think it’s pretty, sure it’s a hassle sometimes but not much more than short hair and there’s a lot more hairstyles you can do

I like long hair. Short hair looks terrible on women, like you've given up or want to find a girlfriend and a job driving trucks.
If you didn’t have to worry about that stigma would you prefer short hair for comfort?
I have always had longish hair.
My mom too.
But do you desire to have it boy-short to be comfortable?
