It seems the fast few years, a growing number of females are objecting to being referred to as such.
I had one even say "I'm not a female". I asked what is she then, and she responded "I'm a w***n".

I have never heard of this controversy. It seems like another attempt to find something to be offended over.
I found the following on Linked In:
"‘Female’ is a scientific term that refers to sex. It reduces women to their reproductive abilities and downgrades her to a lower mammalian status. It has a very singular definition that fails to capture the complexity, value and intersectionality of women."
(Intersectionality - "the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage."
A word appropriated by "woke" persons to include non-females in the definition of woman.)
"Not all women are biologically female. When you use ‘woman’, you include all people who identify as women." (Seriously?)
(Excuse me, but it's total bullshit to say that not all women are biologically female. Only those who are completely out of touch with reality think that a non-biological female human can be a women. To say otherwise is an insult to actual women.)
"The word ‘female’ has been used in derogatory ways to devalue and criticize women.
Over time the use of ‘female’, when talking about women, has taken on a range of negative associations. As a result, using ‘female’ strips women of their value. It communicates the idea that the woman’s sole purpose is reproduction. That she is the same as an animal. That she is inferior to men. ‘Female’ can apply to any species, while ‘woman’ refers specifically to humans.
"You would use ‘female’ as an adjective when describing animals, such as a ‘female cat’. It would be odd to say ‘female human’. Why use ‘female’ for humans when we have two perfectly good nouns already, ‘woman’ and ‘women’?"
After reading that, I think I was right in assuming that objecting to the word female is just another reason for "woke" people to be offended over something. They are in constant search for reasons to be outraged.
Female is the root of femininity and feminism. There are times when it is appropriate but, more often, other words like girl, woman, lady, and wife are more descriptive, accurate or flattering.
If you want to refer to me as “female”. Degrading my humanity. Because animals are female. A dog or cat is female.
Then you better allow me to refer to you as “imbecile”. From here on out, your title will be “imbecile”. How does that feel?
Im a woman. Adult human female. The moment some no-good fool calls me just “female”. I’m getting as far away from you as possible. Ladies if you see this message. Never allow some bastard to call you “female”.
It is generally used in a derogatory way. There are also people who will say men and female, but never male and woman. You don’t typically go around calling men males either. It is just weird and the people who make it a point to use female as the descriptor for women are people to avoid as it is a very specific type of man who does so.

because a female isn’t human-specific so seems weird. and the other odd thing is people will say the words female and men in the same sentence …. why didn’t they say females and males/women and men etc. so it’s not the word itself it’s just the fact it’s being used in a very intentional way.
You must live in some kind of alternate universe.
