If you’ve been raised in a westernized culture since 1960, feminist ideologies have influenced you in some way, as it has influenced everything. Women identifying as anti-feminist is basically meaningless. For them to say “well I don’t identify as a feminist” yeah but you still hold feminist ideals and you don’t even realize that you do.

It's been less than a year since I no more like to associate myself with feminism, however it doesn't mean that I don't have viewpoints that align with some feminist ideas. If he thinks that it makes me partially feminist or something that's his problem not mind. It's less about fitting in a mold and more about advocating for what I believe is right.

Giving men and women equal rights and opportunities is what people should be doing regardless of feminism. It is wrong to be unfairly biased towards either gender regardless of feminism. The court should penalize male and female convicts equally regardless of feminism.

On the other hand, men and women have significant differences in physiology and psychology regardless of feminism, it's a fact that no ideology can alter by belief. Grouping in trans athletes with cisgender athletes is unfair regardless of how transphobic the LGBT community finds it. Also I find it stupid how some feminists neither want men to protect them nor do they want to take their safety into their own hands or take any accountability for themselves and now they want to abolish the police. I don't like how other ideologies like socialism got into feminism because even when there are women who believe in equality and all they may have other political beliefs so nowadays you can't even be a feminist without being intersectional.

So yeah, the red pill man has the right to have his own thoughts on this, and I understand how he thinks anti-feminist is meaningless although it's kind of a stupid interpretation. It's not meaningless. Having some agreements with feminists doesn't mean you are automatically a feminist. An Atheist can have certain moral standpoints that align with some religion, does that mean he's part of that religion now? Hell no.

I think a woman can say she disagrees with certain aspects of Feminism. However yeah she shouldn't really say she's anti feminist.

With things as the are... I'm not fully with Feminists because I personally think men and women are different and we can't be treated the same - therefore I don't really believe in equality as it's presented by quite a lot of modern feminists. I've always thought that men's sports will be more popular because it's to a higher standard and there will always be more men in work because a quantity of women choose to stay home and raise a family. I suppose I believe that despite the rigidity of our gender roles, there is something to them, however what we need is choice, less pressure to adhere to those, not a complete take down of them, as some still find them valuable.

But I could never say I'm anti feminist. My ability to vote for which political party I choose, ability to go to school and study mathematics has been created by feminists of previous generations. I respect and appreciate what those women have achieved for me.

There are certain feminist values that, as you point out, are already incorporated into our western culture. Most people in the West now have a pretty egalitarian view wherein men and women are equals. (not IDENTICAL-- but they have equal value so to speak).

These values are part of the wider culture because as a society, we already collectively agreed on those values. As such, they need no further interrogation, and are taken as self-evident truths.

But those values are not what modern feminists are fighting for. They already won that battle by the 1980s at most. The modern feminist fights for an expansion of women's privileges, over and above the equality of opportunity that women already have. So anyone who acts in direct opposition to the ains of modern feminists... can be considered anti-feminist. Those anti feminists probably are glad for the equality their predecessors fought for and ultimately won. But its not the predecessors they're fighting back against. It's the modern expansionist type of feminism they're in opposition to.

I assume said person was trying to speak from the perspective where "feminism" actually stands for advocacy for equality, the way it used to in the past.

But we all know that modern day feminist movement has long since transformed from what feminism stood for into senseless yapping of a bunch of unironically butthurt snowflakes mixed with a bunch of opportunistic and intellectually dishonest creatures trying to take advantage of the situation for the sake of their own social cred by pretending to align with the aforementioned senseless yapping.

And that those who identify themselves as "non-feminists" or "anti-feminists" these days are merely trying to distance themselves from both of those groups.

Of course, those people may very well believe in equality of the sexes the way it was envisioned in the later half of the past century, but they clearly feel that things have gotten to the point where said distinction and clarification has to be made.

I'm a fourth-generation traditional feminist. My great-grandmother went from uneducated dirt poor Irish to nightschool educated great investor & landlord on her own hook. My grandmother, on her own hook, was also very successful in having friends who are multi-millionaires, belonged to a private yacht club, and had local politicians stop to converse with her. My mother, and aunts, are also very successful with one owning her own international business. Last year a local politician stopped to ask my opinion on something that was pressing.

How many modern "feminists" that follow meaningless "feminist" celebrities like a bunch of good sheep, just one in a crowd of millions, do you think can make the same claims as above. Not many.

I wouldn't identify as a feminist - so you could say I am anti modern feminism - though because the normality is the increasing sluttish mentality of women acting & dressing like prostitutes, poising near enough to naked to be called naked on social media, etc. because they've no real skills & nothing else going for them except these cheap thrill shots... yet for some bizarre reason they complain when they're seen as little more than sexual objects when they act as little more than sexual objects.

No because the idealogy as a whole is toxic.. Feminist is not nor was it ever about equality.. Women were never oppressed or held back by men.. They want to have power over men or society.. Hence why they don't care for the most part to go into the dirty dangerous jobs where men are majority represented.. They want to go into the positions of power and prestige.. Feminists should just be rights activists No need to imply Femine in the word if it means equal to all. Same thing for BLM no need to put Black in it when it's ALM. And guess what's funny both are really easy to say you are, if you just say i believe in human rights. Which i am sure could be shorten to HRM Human rights matter.

some are genuine "anti feminists" but those aren't that common. most likely very traditional or far right. but it's not usually what most people think. it's not like they hate women and are pro rape, they just believe feminism is a fraud (like there's no need for feminism, women = men in society. it's just propaganda to brainwash people) and that women and men are different and traditional gender roles have a scientific or religious basis.

I don't see the correlation. Its like feminists saying if you believe in gender equality then you're automatically a feminist. Over 80% of people believe in gender equality but support for feminism is declining, at 30% at the moment in America.

When these women are saying they are anti-feminists they are saying what third wave feminists believe in, which is also political and part of identity politics. Just because they are anti-feminists doesn't mean they have to cut ties with the past or progress feminism may have contributed to in the past.

There is a difference between gender equality and feminism, so there is no contradiction someone calling themselves anti-feminist regardless of gender.

I think I agree. There was a Doonesbury strip where the daughter came out as not being a feminist; the conversation went along the lines of "You don't think women are equal to men?", "Of course I do, everybody knows that!".

On the other hand, while I was looking for the cartoon, I got this hit:

if you're a anti feminist IN WESTERN SOCIETY today, i think you're a better person. because feminism isn't about fairness and compassion anymore. cause equality isn't about fairness and understanding the other side to find a solution that is optimal for both anymore.

Sure, fighting misandry is a very noble thing but here's the catch - you'll always attract unwanted attention doing noble things. You can attract the rabid feminazis, who call you a traitor or the bitter MGTOW, who you cannot win any arguments because they'll end up calling you a chameleon - an apparent friend, who plans to betray.

You can fight misandry and be subtle about it and stay hidden in plain sight. Like a hero wearing the vendetta mask. You can be someone's hero and stay low.

My wife is antifeminist, thank god, not because she doesn't want women to have equal rights, its because of the behaviors of the current generation of feminists and the rise of misandry.. And the blatant hypocrisy that lots of them cling to. Believing that women are an oppressed class in the US when they simply are not, and have never known real oppression. In fact i guarantee most people in the US have not experienced oppression... Those that say they have should move to the middle east or china.. They will change their minds quickly. You are correct, it is useless for women to identify as non feminist when they're reaping in everything feminism has brought about. And with those advantages brought to women it has made men subservient IE child custody child support and alimony. Feminism has made women entirely dangerous to men and boys too in western society. And this is how and why MGTOW exist. Feminism was never about equality, women had it pretty much equal to men before it started in fact have always had advantage males never had like not being required to go to war. Feminism has lead to the mass murdering of children aka abortion and it has destroyed the family. Feminism has disadvantaged men and boys from stem to stern. If a woman takes a stance against your extremism by claiming to be anti-feminist, at least she can identify your biological dead end. meaningless in what respect? i mean, nothing a woman says or does today with respect to feminism will change what has happened in the past. but women who identify as anti-feminist today are making an important statement about their beliefs about today's feminism, and that is certainly not meaningless. just the opposite. today's feminism is a very negative and harmful influence in society and gender relations. anyone, woman or man, who speaks out against it is doing a very important and meaningful thing.

I think when women declare themselves anti-feminist, they're saying they are anti-what-they-perceive-feminists-are-becoming. So I wouldn't say that what they've said is meaningless. Calling themselves "anti-what-they-perceive-feminists-are-becoming" is such a mouthful.

That is the true red pill view and I agree 100%. If you are woman with even remote modern things, like working, not always cooking or cleaning, owning property, voting, etc., saying you don't like feminism is worthless and all it does is label one as delusional, likely toxic and not worth being around, as many men can in fact see through the BS and will not put up with it. Over time, the number of such men likely will go up.
