If you’ve been raised in a westernized culture since 1960, feminist ideologies have influenced you in some way, as it has influenced everything. Women identifying as anti-feminist is basically meaningless. For them to say “well I don’t identify as a feminist” yeah but you still hold feminist ideals and you don’t even realize that you do.

It's been less than a year since I no more like to associate myself with feminism, however it doesn't mean that I don't have viewpoints that align with some feminist ideas. If he thinks that it makes me partially feminist or something that's his problem not mind. It's less about fitting in a mold and more about advocating for what I believe is right.

Giving men and women equal rights and opportunities is what people should be doing regardless of feminism. It is wrong to be unfairly biased towards either gender regardless of feminism. The court should penalize male and female convicts equally regardless of feminism.

On the other hand, men and women have significant differences in physiology and psychology regardless of feminism, it's a fact that no ideology can alter by belief. Grouping in trans athletes with cisgender athletes is unfair regardless of how transphobic the LGBT community finds it. Also I find it stupid how some feminists neither want men to protect them nor do they want to take their safety into their own hands or take any accountability for themselves and now they want to abolish the police. I don't like how other ideologies like socialism got into feminism because even when there are women who believe in equality and all they may have other political beliefs so nowadays you can't even be a feminist without being intersectional.

So yeah, the red pill man has the right to have his own thoughts on this, and I understand how he thinks anti-feminist is meaningless although it's kind of a stupid interpretation. It's not meaningless. Having some agreements with feminists doesn't mean you are automatically a feminist. An Atheist can have certain moral standpoints that align with some religion, does that mean he's part of that religion now? Hell no.

I think a woman can say she disagrees with certain aspects of Feminism. However yeah she shouldn't really say she's anti feminist.

With things as the are... I'm not fully with Feminists because I personally think men and women are different and we can't be treated the same - therefore I don't really believe in equality as it's presented by quite a lot of modern feminists. I've always thought that men's sports will be more popular because it's to a higher standard and there will always be more men in work because a quantity of women choose to stay home and raise a family. I suppose I believe that despite the rigidity of our gender roles, there is something to them, however what we need is choice, less pressure to adhere to those, not a complete take down of them, as some still find them valuable.

But I could never say I'm anti feminist. My ability to vote for which political party I choose, ability to go to school and study mathematics has been created by feminists of previous generations. I respect and appreciate what those women have achieved for me.

There are certain feminist values that, as you point out, are already incorporated into our western culture. Most people in the West now have a pretty egalitarian view wherein men and women are equals. (not IDENTICAL-- but they have equal value so to speak).

These values are part of the wider culture because as a society, we already collectively agreed on those values. As such, they need no further interrogation, and are taken as self-evident truths.

But those values are not what modern feminists are fighting for. They already won that battle by the 1980s at most. The modern feminist fights for an expansion of women's privileges, over and above the equality of opportunity that women already have. So anyone who acts in direct opposition to the ains of modern feminists... can be considered anti-feminist. Those anti feminists probably are glad for the equality their predecessors fought for and ultimately won. But its not the predecessors they're fighting back against. It's the modern expansionist type of feminism they're in opposition to.

I assume said person was trying to speak from the perspective where "feminism" actually stands for advocacy for equality, the way it used to in the past.

But we all know that modern day feminist movement has long since transformed from what feminism stood for into senseless yapping of a bunch of unironically butthurt snowflakes mixed with a bunch of opportunistic and intellectually dishonest creatures trying to take advantage of the situation for the sake of their own social cred by pretending to align with the aforementioned senseless yapping.

And that those who identify themselves as "non-feminists" or "anti-feminists" these days are merely trying to distance themselves from both of those groups.

Of course, those people may very well believe in equality of the sexes the way it was envisioned in the later half of the past century, but they clearly feel that things have gotten to the point where said distinction and clarification has to be made.

I'm a fourth-generation traditional feminist. My great-grandmother went from uneducated dirt poor Irish to nightschool educated great investor & landlord on her own hook. My grandmother, on her own hook, was also very successful in having friends who are multi-millionaires, belonged to a private yacht club, and had local politicians stop to converse with her. My mother, and aunts, are also very successful with one owning her own international business. Last year a local politician stopped to ask my opinion on something that was pressing.

I don't see the correlation. Its like feminists saying if you believe in gender equality then you're automatically a feminist. Over 80% of people believe in gender equality but support for feminism is declining, at 30% at the moment in America.

When these women are saying they are anti-feminists they are saying what third wave feminists believe in, which is also political and part of identity politics. Just because they are anti-feminists doesn't mean they have to cut ties with the past or progress feminism may have contributed to in the past.

There is a difference between gender equality and feminism, so there is no contradiction someone calling themselves anti-feminist regardless of gender.

Sure, fighting misandry is a very noble thing but here's the catch - you'll always attract unwanted attention doing noble things. If what you mean by the term feminist is first wave feminism, then yes. He is correct.
However, if what you mean by feminist is third wave feminism, then he is very wrong.
And it is this third wave that drives so many people (only 7% of women in England still identify as feminist) to reject the term feminist. It has gone so far beyond what the original feminist leaders envisioned that they themselves wouldn't recognize it.

The core ideals of feminism differ from a large portion of notions pushed by modern feminists. And many people don't want to associate themselves with that.
