How often do girls beat boys in high school wrestling?

At lot of the videos on YouTube show girls beating boys in high school wrestling, but is that really the case? Or is it overblown?

I would say it is highly overblown and for the following reason. There aren't intersex sports at least in the US. When I went to high school girls and guys competed separately. I have a younger sister that just graduated and it was the same for her. So I can only imagine that across the country that in general guys and girls have separate sports. I honestly have never heard of a girl on a wrestling team. That has always bee a guy's only sport where I am from. So I think the whole concept is overblown.

In some places in the USA, girls do wrestle boys on the high school level.

I said in general. Maybe there are in some places. I stand by my opinion.

Well in my school and in my later boxing gym, any guy who is decently fit and knows some moves easily wins or they hold back cause it's fun sometimes
The physical difference is huge , you will realise that if you ever try it with a girl

Later I took BJJ
It wasn't hard for males of much lower belts to handle females of higher belts
But intergender match is never good, there are lot of areas in women's body which we males hesitate to lay hands on

Not often, I wrestled coed in high school and Guys are usually just stronger in the same weight class. However I wrestled a state champ girl who beat me fair and square.


I never minded wrestling women though. Just saying…
