What does it mean when a girl taps your shoulder?

Last Sunday, I went to talk to a female friend at church, and she taps my shoulder a few times.

tapping your shoulder could mean a few different things:

- Getting your attention - She may have wanted to tell you something or engage you in conversation, so a light tap was a way to politely get you to turn around and face her.

- Playful/flirty gesture - Some girls will do a little shoulder tap as a subtle flirty move, kind of like a "playful punch" that both gets your attention and maintains a bit of physical contact. Could be a sign she's interested.

- Greeting/acknowledging you - A friendly hello tap is a casual way to greet a friend when you bump into them in a crowd.

- Joking/teasing - Girls sometimes do little taps or pokes when joking around with friends, like doing something silly to get a reaction.

Hard to say for sure without more context, but I wouldn't overthink it necessarily. Could just be a friendly hello. But if she was smiling or lingered talking to you, maybe there's some flirtiness there too. Either way, a casual shoulder tap isn't a big deal. Wouldn't hurt to just be friendly back and see if there's any other signs of interest!
