That's pretty dangerous actually, in an accident the Airbag will deploy and if you're sitting that close, the minimum injury you may get is burns from the propellant, the worst could be shrapnel from the steering wheel, cuts and possibly broken ribs. I drive a small 2 seater sports car with a manual transmission, and since I'm tall and long legged, I sit fairly far back and low. Maybe my driving position won't work for everyone, but at least I'm comfortable and away from the Airbag, just in case.
