The last doctor that wanted to give me a vaginal exam was an old Chinese man and I said no to him. God! I didn't want some old Chinese man touching my secret cave. That's why I call it secret!
I don't really care for a woman gyno doctor either. I am so anti-lesbian that it would be creepy fir a woman to do it. How would I know if she was a lesbo?
I've also had very handsome young gynecologists, and I was terribly embarrassed for his head to have to go between my legs wearing his big miner's light on his head is he could see EVERYTHING!
Maybe this is why I haven't had a pap smear in many, many years.

Eh I've always had a woman gyno and prefer that but if I had a man it wouldn't exactly bother me that much. It is pretty clinical during my yearly exam. After all a male gyno is a medical professional and if they had a reputation of being a sleeze they wouldn't last that long. Word would get out pretty quick. That said I'm perfectly happy with having the woman I have now. She is really good and I've been going to her for years now just because of how good of a doctor she is.

My gynecologist is currently male but retiring very soon and also he was my moms dr that birth me 23 years ago lol, but I never had a problem with him or felt uncomfortable about it. He’s honestly the best of finding and solving the problem I was having, he listens and understand my concerns about part of me socially has close because it’s taboo to talk about in this world lol. Also there’s always a female nurse present when I have appointment with him.

Now that he’s leaving I don't know who to choose a male or female doctor next?

Although I naturally much prefer having/seeing a female gynaecologist, if for whatever reason on a needs must basis, I would be happy enough to see a medically qualified professional male... I would however very much like see a female nurse in attendance at the same time.

The idea of a man being my gynecologist makes me extremely uncomfortable, heck going to begin with is. I’m sure there are a lot of men that do a great job but women have the same parts as me and I feel more comfortable talking to them and letting them do what they have to

I used to prefer women only but my female Gynecologist retired.

Now, I'm being seen by her male replacement.

I'm not uncomfortable with him or being seen by a male Gynecologist.

Fortunately, I haven't noticed any "anomalies" in the way he practices during the visits when he saw me.

Men doctors are wayy better! They are more gentle and actually listen to my issues. With one of my births I had a male doctor and all male nurses/baby doctors. I've never felt so comfortable and safe in my life. Such a calm environment to give birth 😌

it HAS to be a woman. i am not letting a guy do that, regardless of medical practices. i do not feel comfortable and i'm very surprised that 38% don't care. in today's world, i care a lot... plus, a woman would know more about a vagina as she flipping has one!

If I ever had to go to one I'd want a female one. I'd probably be embarrassed if I had a male one (even though I know it's just their job and they've seen millions of vaginas before).

For me it doesn't matter whether the doctor is a woman or a man. What is important is competence and that the doctor understands what I want and need.
