Well originally used to refer to the father.
Then the slang was used for women to refer to their male partner instead.

It's used in the relationship context as slang to put the man in the relationship in a position of masculine dominance in a way because the father of the household is the protector and virwed in a strong, dominant way. Same goes for the man in certain relationships.

Used mostly during sexual situations, it's also tied into the bdsm community. It's a dominance/submissive word.

Using Daddy in that context doesn't mean the guy is literally your father. Just like calling each other baby doesn't mean anyone is the other's actual child. It's just slang.
