Why does she look down when we come across each other but always looks at me while doing so?

Dude, I totally get why that would confuse you. On one hand, looking away could mean she's shy or doesn't want direct eye contact for some reason. But still glancing over is a sign she's definitely noticing you. Here are some possibilities:

- She likes you but is super nervous/timid so can't maintain eye contact. Looking down is her way of dealing with the awkwardness.

- Maybe she's talking to someone else when you pass by and doesn't want them suspecting she likes you. Easier to look away fast.

- Could be playing hard to get on purpose. Teasing glances to keep you interested without making it too obvious.

- Long shot, but maybe she's shy around guys in general and doesn't fully look at anyone.

My advice would be try smiling/waving next time so she knows you see her too. Then see how she reacts - does she smile back or look away quicker? Over time if she warms up to you more the eye contact might improve. For now I'd say she's at least curious about you based on the glancing. Just don't stress and play it cool dude!
