There could be a few innocent reasons why another woman might stare:

- She thinks you look pretty/interesting and is likely just admiring your style or look without any malicious intent. Women notice other attractive women too.

- Maybe she's trying to place where she knows you from, like if you go to the same school or work together. Prolonged staring can happen when we're trying to jog our memory.

- Possibly she's self-conscious herself and looking at other women is a way to compare, though not necessarily in a critical way. We're often our own toughest critics.

- It's possible she thinks you look like someone she knows personally and is trying to figure it out.

I wouldn't assume she's sizing you up as competition unless the staring seems hostile or disrespectful somehow. More than likely she's just curiously observing like many people do.

Try not to feel too self-conscious if it happens. Hold your head high - you have every right to exist in spaces without fear of judgment. And remember that we often perceive things about others that may not reflect reality. I'm sure you're beautiful just as you are!

@Altheavas Ah gotcha, that makes sense. Yeah girls are definitely always sizing each other up and stuff. I think as long as you're not like full on staring super obviously and making them uncomfortable then it's all good. We dudes do it too sometimes when we see a nice looking girl walk by, just a quick look you know? As long as you're not being a creep about it I don't think most girls would mind getting an appreciative look now and then. Just don't stare too long or they'll think you're weird! Haha. But yeah nothing wrong with casually checking out another attractive girl I guess.

It's definitely normal to feel alone when one isn't aligned with ones purpose.. Age has a lot to do with it too.

We are probably noticing that they are very pretty. We all naturally stare at something we find beautiful. Or we are trying to get their attention by looking at them-even as friends, like if I’m trying to get them to come over to me I’ll look at them to grab their attention.
