Why do women stare at other women?

I noticed that I see lots of woman staring at me, checking me out, and sometimes to the point where they watch me and I look their way and they turn quickly away, sometimes they don’t look away and have a mean look on their face and one girl even gave me the most hateful stare like she was very mad and looked possessed cause her eyes were so full of hatred. These are just the different stares I receive from other women who are probably older than me! I m 19 years old and I don’t understand why women stare at other women especially to the point where I can see them staring, I feel it’s quite rude! Someone please explain why they do this and how I should react?

They're not checking you out- they're sizing you up. This is a distinction a lot of women struggle with, since both activities consist of a long, assessing look, but one is judging a potential partner and one a potential threat.

If you're seen as a rival for potential attention and affection, you'll probably have made a long-term enemy without even lifting a finger. Typically, though, you're only to encounter that kind of assessment from two groups: first, women who occupy a high spot on the attractiveness totem pole and worry you might be there to take their place, and women who occupy a low level, and fear you're there to take their scraps.

You may be thinking that it's kind of pathetic to have a large portion of your self-perception derived from the approval of the opposite sex; I can assure you that yes, it is. Most women eventually grow out of it; some take much longer than others.

The best way to react is to roll your eyes and ignore it; usually you have nothing to fear but angry looks. Worst case, you get impolite things said about you behind your back. They're cowards, and won't confront you directly.

Well there's two reasons.

One: they think you're pretty

Or two, they hate yo ass cause they are jealous, of something you have, contrary to this whole thing about," women supporting women" thing you see online

It happens to me allllll the time, and I'm in my 40's. I have a young looking face, great skin, high cheekbones, I'm slim and I dress well, The looks are usually hateful stares - often from younger women (who assume I'm younger) or older woman (who also assume I'm younger!). I don't get that same hostility from men.

This has happened to be quite a bit recently, at least that I am noticing. There is nothing wrong with me. I dress nice, and I sure as hecc know I don’t stink. So, perhaps in both our cases, it is jealousy? Which is odd…

Same with me! I m stylish and of course take care of my personal hygiene and I mean I suppose it could be jealousy but there’s nothing ODD about that, if your healthy and take care of yourself like working out and eating right then your most certainly attractive. I noticed all the women who looked at me like that had bad teeth, out of shape, older, some look like a boy, etc, who gave me bad death stares I think is where the passive aggressiveness could be coming from.

Well, perhaps they maybe unhappy with who they are. We can be their motivation to get them to take care of themselves. 💜

Just measuring themselves compared to you? Could be they like what they see, or that they are jealous. Maybe some are even interested in you.

Besides that... People love 'People Watching'; I do, and I am sure I am not alone in that.
