its like she and her co workers tried to sweep it under the rug in the hopes no one would notice.

but i recently found out they like killed one of there customers one night. no not murder in the sense but they work at a restaurant and he went there with friends one night and had way too much to drink. for some reason no one cut them off or told them to leave despite being obviously intoxicated. and at the end of the night he was allowed to drive home in own car and crashed and died soon after.

but i've been there many times since this incident occured and like no one there has ever mentioned it , i was not aware any of the customers had died after being served there. i'm sure this could happen to any restaurant , a customer gets over served and then drives home only to cause an accident in the process.

its just the fact they have been lying to me ever since and no one seemed to want to talk about. maybe they were told to stay silent but makes them look a little sketchy and not trustworthy people

If it were me I'd be asking around kinda low-key to get more of the full story. Like casually bring it up to different staff members or regular customers and see if they give any different details. Pay attention to reactions too - the ones involved may act weird about it.

And definitely stop going there yourself. No way I'd support a place that swept something that major under the rug. If they're hiding one thing what else don't you know? Who knows if their safety practices have changed since.

Putting money and avoiding trouble over a person's life, that's really low. Like you said, times are tough for businesses now but that's no excuse. They could have at least warned other customers after the fact so no one else gets hurt.

the restaurant before this incident generally had a good reputation and part of a chain not known for bad behaviour or wild nights out. more of a family restaurant , here its popular with tourists as its rate near a lot of the hotels.

so less concerned about the chain itself and more worried about some of the specific people who work there and if they could really be trusted or not.

they obviously handled the whole thing wrong and it could of been avoided if they had simply not over served this group of people in the first place.

when at the gym today as i was going in , the girl who i think was the bartender that night was coming out , sort of akwardly said hi to her. i have seen her at that gym before but not for a long time. wonder if maybe she has extra free time now or doesn't even work there anymore? so went to the gym instead as i had not seen her there for a while

Woah dude, losing their license for 60 days? That's huge! Definitely doesn't sound like a light punishment if it was really just an accident. Something more had to be going on there for the restaurant to get in that much trouble.

And yeah, I bet the other employees are PISSED. That's basically two months of income they're all losing out on because of this one mistake. Paying rent and bills is gonna be really tough for everyone. I wouldn't be surprised if they're blaming that bartender big time.

Yeah man, it's really shady that the timeline of when they knew is so vague. If the servers actually knew the guy who died, there's no way they didn't connect the dots right away.

I wonder if it was more that the higher-ups tried to keep it quiet at first? But then when cops started asking around, the staff probably panicked and spilled everything. That would explain why it took so long for the full investigation to happen.

i've heard from another server that she might still be allowed to work there until bar is convicted of an offense then she would lose her bartending certification if she was the one convicted of over serving that night. so she might not be allowed to work at another bar either or she would have to go back and re take the test.

we have a license here called " smart serve " anyone who serves alcohol needs to have it , its like a 1 day course / test. i took it years ago but never used it. obviously she did not any much attention that day or did not care anymore.

also people tend to give hot people a pass , she's hot so maybe no one ever wanted to like say anything even if she was like over serving people there some nights

that chain has mailed out coupons before , not the first time i have seen them at post office before as i often check for coupons.

saw that bartender at gym again , we didn't talk or anything , she seemed kind of in her own world or something going on with her.

is a new article out about the incident , says restaurant and liquor police agreed to a settlement and its now a 45 day suspension not 60 and starts on march 18th and runs until may 2 . so its license is going to be suspended this spring but has not started yet until mid march

so unclear if she or other staff still work there or who will work through suspension and who will come back once its re open like normal come May

i didn't know the person that died which was why i wasn't aware till now that they had been to that restaurant that night as i wouldn't of known them to see them in person.

i know some of the girls who work there and i've talked to them outside of the restaurant , like the one girl i used to see her at the gym and have talked to her there before and at other bars around here. she's never once mentioned anything about this incident and pretty sure she was the one working that night. as i'd go there after i went to the gym around like 7pm and she was always the one working the bar at night

Poster already said the place is losing their liquor license for however long. That's what happens. You don't go to jail for that in the U. S. otherwise bartenders would have to get paid WAY more money. I know (loosely) 5 people who have died as drunk drivers and not a single person went to jail for any of them.

legally a lot of the responsibility falls to the manager and restaurant itself , they have the legal liability to make sure people are not being over served and have a safe way to get home if they have had too much to drink.
