Is this girl trying to say something?

I've been talking to this girl for 5 months.

I texted her a few days ago that I was feeling pretty disconnected in general and thats why i really haven't been responding to her.

I told her I still missed her. Last night she responded by saying this:

”i really wanted to reply to your messages but i drank a little and i dont feel really sober so i thought it'd be better if i replied tomorrow and wanted to let you know, i hope you have the best night sleep today”

then she said, “and to be honest i missed you more than i'd guess”

Its weird because she doesn't really drink often. Is it possible she's drinking over me?

Hmm it is a little weird that she mentioned drinking when she doesn't usually drink. A couple things it could mean:

- She was feeling down about your texts saying you felt disconnected, so she drank to take her mind off it or drowned her sorrows a bit. Like drinking helped her cope with missing you.

- By saying she drank and didn't want to reply intoxicated, she was sort of hinting that what she really wanted to say she didn't want to say drunk. Like her true feelings came out when drinking.

- Mentioning she missed you more than she'd guess could be subtly saying she has stronger feelings for you than she realized or is willing to admit when sober. Drinking helped her open up emotionally.

- It's possible she was just looking for an excuse if she replied something embarrassing like crying over you or something while drunk lol.

So in summary - I think there's a good chance she does actually miss you a lot more than she lets on normally. And drinking may have lowered her walls enough to admit that. I'd say talk to her more when you get a chance and see if there's a possibility of reconnecting since you both still have feelings.

I wouldn't say she's drinking over you, but if your leading her on and then semi-ghosting her, a drunk version of her probably has no filter and she's probably not trying to scare you off more.

Talking to someone for 5 months seems mean. Where is your next step?
