Just pretend it didn’t happen. The important thing is if you really care about them to am try to stay friends. Who knows, somewhere down the line they may reconsider if they see you’re not just there for yourself and you genuinely care about them.

Coping is kinda like making a healthy habit which reassures your mental state and emotional state.
You don’t cope, you move on. You live your life. What you don’t do is sit in it and try to convince yourself why you’ll be alright. You just move on and put your focus on the things that’s are gonna matter moving there onwards. Acknowledge the pain you felt. That was real. If you need a mental self checkup and to reassure in that moment that you’re good enough and capable for more, then do that. But I never cope. I just move on. If you don’t move on, you stop growing. You die inside, along with all the fucked up emotions that it had caused you.
