Are DDDs too big for a 5ft woman?

The cup size is supposed to be based on the difference in inches between your bust and under-bust measurement.

1" diff is an A cup. (zero boobs)
2" diff is a B. (very small)
3" is a C. (small)
4" is a D. (decent)
5" is DD. (medium)
6" is DDD. (ideal)
7" is an E (quite ample but not gigantic)

The band measurement is supposed to match the under-bust measurement.
Bands come in even numbered 2" increments.

So lets take an example of a woman whose body measurements are 34" bust, 24" waist, 36" hips.
With a 24" waist, her under-bust would typically be 27".
34" bust minus 27" under-bust = 7". But since bands come in even numbers, the correct band size for her would be 28".
A 1" larger band reduces the cup size by one letter.
34" bust minus 28" = 6", which equates to a DDD cup.
She would wear a 28DDD.
She could even step up to a 30" band and wear a 30D bra.
Either way, those are normal sized boobs.

The problem is, women are always fitted with bands that are at least 4" too large.
So if the girl in my example wore a band that was too large, she might wear a 32B or C bra. That's absurd.

Bra fitting is totally messed up. I've seen examples of celebrities whose body measurements are 35"-24"-35" wearing 36C bras. It makes no sense at all. How could a band be larger than her bust? And it's obvious that the difference between her bust and under-bust measurements is more than 3 measly inches. In reality, it has to be 7" or 8".

So regarding your DDDs. They may represent a mere 6" diff between your bust and under-bust measurements, which would make them a normal, modest size.

But I don't know your bust and under-bust measurements or the size band you are wearing. So I have no way of judging your actual size.

If your under-bust measurement is 28" and you are wearing a 34DDD bra, it would mean that your boobs are really big.

I would say it depends heavily on the band size. A 30DDD is a lot different than a 40DDD. Personally I like a very busty girl so I’m biased but id say if she has a nice fit figure then DDD would look pretty nice.
