Should I assume that Friday is cancelled?

*Bella* and I confirmed that we’re meeting up next Friday in the city, for brunch. Then she got sulky after flaking on me many times and acted angry the one time I wasn’t available and didn’t do what she wanted. I wonder, should I assume that brunch is cancelled, or should I ask her?

I would ask her because if you assume something that is possibly wrong, you will never hear the end of that story and you will make a foe with "Bella" rather than to reinforce friendship, if you could call it friendship at all.

Friends don't sulk about something like that, they don't pout, they don't flake and they don't abuse.

If you don't go to the Friday meeting and she is there all by herself, you will need to justify yourself and for that, you may have to tell her how you got confused after what happened the first time. Better be safe than sorry.

I suggest a short text to her saying, "What time are we meeting for brunch? 11am, isn't it?"

Maybe send a message to confirm brunch. If you don't hear back within a reasonable time, then cancel it.
