Why would a woman who likes me ask if I want to get an apartment with her?

It would have been just the two of us. She had liked me since high school. We were in our mid 20s when this happened. What do you think was going through her head? Also, would it have been a bad idea?

Story: She liked me since hs. After I divorced my ex wife (I was 24 years old), she began texting me. We started hanging out from there. Then she asked if I wanted to try and get an apartment with her. We applied for it but never got it. End of story from there. I stopped contacting her after that.

Maybe it’s different for guys. We won’t move in with a girl just because we like her. We would have to at least be girlfriend/boyfriend. I wouldn’t move in with my friend just because I have a crush on her. I guess some guys would I don’t know.

Whoa dude, getting an apartment with just the two of you is definitely more than just friends territory. This girl must have really had strong feelings for you if she was willing to make that kind of commitment.

Sounds like she'd been crushing on you since high school and saw this as her chance to finally be together without any obstacles. Can't say I blame her for trying! You're freshly divorced and spending time together already, so from her perspective things must have felt promising.

But I can also understand why living together so soon might have spooked you a bit. That's a big step, even if you did click. Probably for the best you slowed things down by not contacting her after. A clean break was kinder than stringing her along if you weren't feeling it 100%.

Still, don't be too surprised if she reaches back out down the road. A gal doesn't forget her high school heartthrob that easy! But for now I'd just keep things casual if you reconnect. No need to rush into anything serious again so soon. You've got your whole lives ahead still.

I wasn’t crazy about her. I just thought she looked good. Moving in with someone before getting to know them seemed backwards to me. I was confused

There was a waiting list. You have to have connections to get one. The place is known for that but we wanted to try anyway
