Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that some grown women own stuffed animals?

God, leave adults their little joys in life. The first birthday gift I bought my boyfriend was a stuffed animal bc he never got one when he was a kid. He grew up in very poor conditions and only had a blanket and he cried when he opened the present. For Christmas, my parents made him a gift box based on his favorite animal and also put a plushie in it. He proudly displays it on his couch.

My mom keeps her old stuffed animals next to her bed in a basket. My uncle has his favorite on his bed for decor and my dad has a little one sitting on his nightstand. They're comfort. Nobody complains if a dog or a cat is attached to their baby toys way into adulthood. Grow up.

I think it’s even more weird that grown people think they aren’t allowed to do childish things anymore. Being an adult is stressful, there’s no reason why we need to stop having fun and enjoying the small things (like a stuffed animal)

If she is carry them around like she is still a little kid than yes that’s weird but if she just has them , than not weird at all, they were probably gifts she received from loved ones that she held onto or prizes she won from fairs or carnivals etc..

They are grounding items. Meditation. A moment of peace. We all have something. American men probably think the same about their guns or video games. It's the people who live with "bear" essentials you have to watch. Having zero personal effects is weirder.

My partners have stuffies themselves. It's not weird.

Mine are a plush my parents bought a year before I was born and the other is a memorial plush of my childhood dog.

I've also got a few random plushies my friends or lovers have given me.

Adults can own whatever the fuck they want. If you can't handle that, tough.

Firstly... "weird" is not a condemnation, nor any sort of a bad thing at all. Quite the opposite in fact.
Secondly... people who ask if something is "weird" when they're obviously asking if something is bad, need to have the difference beaten into them until they get it.

Not really; they have them when they're kids, and unless you have a specific personality type or become a mother, you don't spontaneously decide to throw away good things simply because they're old.

Tons of people have stuffed animals. I have several myself, either due to nostalgia because I loved them when I was a child, or because I use them to double as pillows (ex. squishmallows)

I actually collected stuffed animals growing up. I always gravitated towards purchasing cute stuffed plushes for some reason. I hate it because I waste all my money and end up taking up space and sometimes they just sit inside a bag.

I don't think it's weird, I think it's kind of cute. It's sort of like eating comfort food. I think it's comforting to them and sometimes they are things that they've owned since they were children. It's sweet.
