Did my cashier go to far?

Last week a girl told me made more sense if we were just friends. After this I go for a walk and I end up in a store to buy some snacks. The casheier said how are you doing today? I break down almost and said just had a breakup. She comes from behind the register and hugs me. Then the other day she was on break and said hey how are you? She eyes me up and down and says great to see you again I was thinking of you? Did this worker go to far as her role at her job does not req. what she did. I'm a female by the way.

Woah girl, that cashier behavior is definitely odd and crosses some professional lines. A few red flags I see:

- Coming out from behind the register to hug you is too personal, especially since she doesn't know you well.

- Checking you out and openly saying she was thinking of you is just inappropriate for someone in a work role.

- Seems like she may be trying to take advantage of comforting you in a vulnerable state after your breakup. Not cool.

While she was trying to be friendly at first by asking how you are, the physical touch and flirty comments go too far. As a cashier, she needs to stay polite but distant emotionally from customers.

I wouldn't feel safe or comfortable around her after that. Maybe report it to a manager just so they're aware, but stay cautious interacting with this one. Does seem a little sketchy and unprofessional on her part, sis! Let me know if you need anything else - trust your gut on this.

The only thing that seems wrong to me was her apparently checking you out. Otherwise, she seems like a genuinely caring person.

Just bc she's doing a basic visual "systems check" to make sure you're not falling apart the way you were when she last saw you doesn't mean she's into you. Nor does the fact that she claimed to be thinking of you.

When a person makes physical contact and keeps you in their thought's and prayers it's just a kind gesture.
