I don't even know how they would notice. I'm sure it's happened to more than one person on multiple occasions. When you're scanning thousands of items daily for hundreds of customers, a mistake like this is bound to happened. It's not the offense of the century. They have insurance for that covers theft and incidents like this.
I never have this kind of luck. They usually charge me twice for multiple items. So be happy you got a free item and don't worry about the cashier. It was HIS mistake.
But this reminds me how one of my co-workers went to get a spa treatment and they forgot to ring up like $250 and kept calling her to pay it. I don't know if she did or not, but if she did she's so stupid, because she was quoted a price and she paid it. If the cashsier screwed up, it should come out of HIS paycheck.
I've screwed up transactions before, though never THAT badly. And other people at my job have screwed up transactions and undercharged customers. When you're working long busy shifts, mistakes are bound to happened. In my job it was so common for the till to come up short at the end of the day. They didn't even punish us for it. We just had to explain why it was short.
The cashier will be fine. Just enjoy your free product ;)
I can't believe there are people actually suggesting to go back and pay for it. Shaking my head. I see future snitches in the making
Saw the 666 , freaky..
No , unlikely , just take it as a gift , the buzzer didn't go off , innocent mistake.
What is that in US Dollars? In my opinion, it is always best to be honest, but I don't think many would agree with me in this instance. They missed it so it is their tough luck. I want to hear from someone that actually has a business in here. Does it hurt them, or do they just use it as a tax write-off. I'm sure if it was expired, they would take it back in a flash.
No, the cashier shouldn’t get in any trouble. The only thing that might happen is that when the store does inventory later, they will be short one of those items. But very very unlikely that this mistake could ever be traced to a certain person.
It's unlikely the cashier would face serious trouble for this. Mistakes happen, and it's generally considered an honest oversight. If you're concerned, you could return to the store or contact them to pay for the item. This shows good faith and might help prevent the mistake from repeating for others. 😊

At the first store when you paid 666, the devil must have been watching you, that's the devil's number.
The second store I think you was egg tremely lucky. Sorry!
I usually check the egg box to make sure the eggs are ok, and I check the receipt before leaving the store.
After a long day working, and under pressure with a long queues etc. Sometimes the checkout person makes a mistake, though I think it's only happened to me a few times.
Haha. The store is about 45 minutes away from home so I didn't come back. Plus it was a long time ago.
One time I came back to the vegetable shop to buy bok choy its almost dried out but not really that dried out like it doesn't look fresh to me he gave me all his bok choy on his display he didn't accept my payment 😆
Also one time I went to store and I said I need 2 20 pesos margarine and she gave me a super big blocks of margarine that is super worth the price of what I paid. Like its a steal its almost 200 grams each plastic and then when my sister came back to buy margarine its smaller for 20 pesos compared to what I bought last time lol.
It’s never wrong to do the right thing & being that you posted it on here it means subconsciously you are thinking about it & you feel guilty.
Go back to the store & pay for the item.
See if the same cashier is still in the store & only deal with that associate because if you go to someone else or management they probably will get in trouble for not ringing up the item.
No, they make these mistakes all the time. They will just think the discrepancy in the inventory was due to shoplifting.
Its normal, dont worry about it and enjoy the free item. Mistakes happens quite often in retail and is expected.
Yes... They will hang the cashier from the nearest tree
Mistakes happen. It's part of doing business. The cashier won't get in trouble since there's no way to detect the mistake.
That’s considered loss or breakage and priced into the store operation.
If someone knew it was probably a honest mistake. If it’s important enough to you take it to the store and explain what happened.
If you would have noticed it before you left the store. Then maybe you should have told the cashier. Once you are out of the store. I would consider it an early birthday present!
Most likely the cashier will not get in trouble. Businesses and cashiers are quite used to things not balancing out.
Go back. I went to Wendy’s. There was no one at first window and so I went to the 2nd window. I paid I could have got it for free. I but I couldn’t do it.
Possibly but I doubt it. My kids stole so much shit when they were in strollers.
It will be fine. Those mistakes happen all the time
I want to date you because you are a strong independent woman.
Lol.
Just go back and say they forgot it and pay and it will all be ok i think
NO! Don't do THAT! That's just stupid! Being honest can lead to even more problems. They might accuse her of stealing it. She'd probably have to return with ALL the items she purchased and the receipt. But that's just stupid, especially considering the store has insurance for that sort of stuff. It's their loss, her luck. There is a time and place to be honest, but this isn't one of them.
But if the store overcharged her for something then she would be an idiot to complain.
Call the store and ask about situation they will help you..
Nothing will happen it'll just be classed as loss
You can always go back and pay the rest :)

@KostasKouvalis I've done that, no problem for me.
Stop by to pay for it.

Just forget about it
That is what insurance is for.
They will probably just take it out of their pay.
Wow put your neighborhood out there
