Have you Ever Experienced Paying for an Item But The Clerk Forgot to Remove The Security Tag?

Back in 5th grade my mother brought me some boots and the cashier forgot to take the tag off.. People thought I stole them Paris.. I forgot how I got the tag off in the end..
Haha Me too Paris..
Thank you for MHO!
Yes it happened once. It made the alarm go off when I tried to leave. The cashier got in trouble for not removing it
I'm surprised family dollar is still around. They closed all the ones by me.
I'm on long Island. There used to be 3 family dollar stores. When dollar tree opened up family dollar closed
It's possible. I heard they are trying to restructure.
Thanks for the mho

I don't remember ever having that experience.
Oh yeah, K-Mart forgot to remove one those magnetic strips on. a 2 Disk various artist CD I bought once of remixed songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Damn good CD, lol. (When they were still open)
Anyway, down the mall from Kmart was the Sam and Goody. When I walk into that store, it set off their security alarms. The girl at the music store was nice enough to demagnetize it for me. Bet that's the first time anybody set one of those off walking into a store, lol. Then I bought an Incubus CD from Sam and Goody while I was there and that one set it off when I walked out, lol.
It wasn't that she forgot though. It turned out there was more than one and I'm going to strip on there for some odd reason, so she only the demagnetized one.
A little tip, if you stick a security tag in the freezer, it'll freeze the ink and demagnetize it, in case you're trying to take it back and have them remove the tag without drawing a bunch of attention to yourself when you walk back into the store lol. (I have learned a lot of odd stuff being a writer! Lol. Amazing the stuff you come across while during research for books, lol)
Yes, it was several years ago. I bought a men's shirt. The tag wasn't removed and somehow, the alarm didn't go off when I left the store. Noticed it a few days later when I put on the shirt. I went back to the store, making sure I had the receipt so I wouldn't be charged with stealing. The store manager still had to be called... she didn't understand how I left the store without the alarm going off. She had an employee try to leave the store ith my shirt via the same exit I used and they found the exit alarm wasn't working.
I wonder how many people got away with unpaid-for merchandise.
Yes 2 years ago.
The cashier removed some tags but not all and we had spent 10 more minutes in the store but the guards didn't treat us like thieves,,, yes there are guards who'd treat like a thieve even though they saw you checking out.
I had this once or twice with clothing. When I found out, I returned to the store with my receipt the same day and let them remove the tags. For some weird reason the alarm didn't went off both time I was there (when i bought it and when I went back)
No. I'm not American lol.
Wink wink yes I have and I figured out how to get them off so I was good
I shop for clothes at wal mart, so yeah. I imagine it will happen more and more as stores are trying to transition to self checkout.
Similar, but not same, Paris:
I had triggered an alarm when I had a magnet in my pocket that I bought shortly before I entered that clothing store.
It was fun :)
lol!!! @andreasderjuengere My Hun. xx
:) thank you
YESSS Its so embarrassing because people look at you as if you're stealing when the alarm goes off
Just a couple weeks ago on a hoodie, haha. It was no big deal, I just brought it back with the receipt and they took care of it.
Fortunately, I haven’t. But it’s right after you’ve paid everything at the register, then leaving the door alarm goes off. So embarrassing!
No I always watch to make sure they take them off but if that ever happened I know how they work and it's not hard to get them off at home
Yeah a couple times. Super obnoxious when it's the ink security tag thing
A few times, yeah. I'll end up going back to the store with the receipt so they can take it off
Yes that has happened to me! I went back to the store and had them remove it.
With electronics, I get stopped every time. Shop keeper's privilege is a bitch some times.
This has happened a couple of times, and it was in fact, embarrassing.
Sometimes you just gotta dance!
Yes. As soon as I tried to exit, the alarm went off. They checked my receipt, and realized they left a tag inside the shoebox. Once they removed the tag from the shoe, I tried again, and it went off again. I came to find out that there was another sensor inside the actual product that had to be run across a pad, which would take its ability to be sensed away. After several times of running it across the pad; I was finally able to leave the store with no alarms going off!!!
Yes and it wasn't until I put on at the beach that I noticed it and we hard a hard time getting it off 😂
Yes, and when the alarm goes off i just keep walking.
Oh yes it has happened. Embarrassing or what.
I have become rather adept at removing those because of that issue.
Yes and they said they couldn’t remove it because I didn’t get a receipt.
Yeah my kids have and had to use pliers to take it off since I wasn’t going back there
I do remember trying to remove one
I ended up damaging the clothing
I should have brought back to shop
Yes and the alarm went off when I went through the door. It was embarrassing.
Yeah... I have and that was 15years ago. The tag was on my face cap
i tried to walk out of a restraunt before paying. does that count
No, I've never had this experience.
Can’t say that I have done that.
Only when the alarm goes off leaving the store.
Walmart is known for doing that!
Fortunately not
Nope.
Yep. Pain in the ass
Not yet.
Nope
I got it off right before heading out.
Just once.
